Army Floatation Over Vests
Army Floatation Over Vests are buoyant outer vests from our ballistic overvest range, made in China for river, lake and coastal units. The listed buoyancy level is 15 kg at dead load, and the vest has toughened pockets for up-armour inserts, so it can float a soldier and carry protection at the same time. A wrap-around belt stops it riding up in the water.
What makes these Army Floatation Over Vests different
Many life jackets are made for boat crews only. This vest is built for troops who cross water in full kit. The shell uses a puncture-resistant, water-resistant and buoyant ballistic material, and it drains fast once the wearer is back on land.
- Buoyancy: 15 kg at dead load
- Belt: wrap-around, to keep the vest in place while in water
- Fit: adjustable at the shoulders and waist
- Drainage: quick drainage of water after exit
- Pockets: toughened pockets for up-armour inserts
- Panels: typically closed-cell foam in a nylon or PU carrier
Typical use and what to confirm
Vests like this are usually worn for riverine patrols, flood rescue and water crossings. Before we quote, we ask what inserts you plan to carry and the chest size range of your team. Heavy plates reduce the spare lift, so we check that the 15 kg rating still meets your need once the inserts are fitted.
We also confirm colour, pattern and any unit marking in writing. If your tender cites a named flotation or armour standard, send the clause and we state what test papers can be supplied.
Supply and shipping
The vest is held in stock or made to order and ships in seaworthy export crates. We supply importers, distributors and tender winners in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and more than 60 other countries, on EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF terms.
