What this power transmission equipment range covers
The range is small on purpose. We focus on one transformer that we wind and build in-house, not a long list of loose items. That lets us change the voltage ratio, rating or tap range for a single order, and no third party touches the job.
The copper winding oil immersed power distribution transformer sits where a network steps voltage up for long lines or down for local feeders. Mineral oil fills the tank. It cools the core and keeps the windings insulated, while fins on the tank shed the heat that builds up under load.
Buyers often search for transmission line hardware, a transmission tower or other high voltage equipment when they reach this page. We do not list towers or line hardware here. What we can supply is the transformer that links those lines to the rest of the grid.
Copper or aluminium windings
This is the first question most utilities ask us. Copper carries current better than aluminium, so a copper coil of the same rating is smaller and runs cooler. Under steady load, a cool coil wears its insulation more slowly, which is why many grid owners will pay more for it.
Aluminium coils cost less up front and suit some budgets and light duty. If your tender allows either metal, tell us, and we can explain the trade-off for your load profile before you commit.
Specifying power transmission equipment for your network
A transformer that fits one grid may not fit the next. Before we start production, we confirm these points with every buyer:
- Voltage ratio. The primary and secondary voltages, plus any tap range you need for voltage control.
- Rating and impedance. The kVA or MVA rating and the percent impedance your protection study expects.
- Efficiency class. Many utilities cap no-load and load losses, so we match the design to the class they set.
- Cooling and site conditions. Ambient heat, altitude and whether the unit stands indoors or outdoors.
- Test plan. Which routine and type tests you need, and whether you want to witness factory acceptance testing.
Buyers usually ask us for a drawing and a datasheet before they sign off. We recommend sending your single-line diagram or the technical clause from your tender, so the quote matches your network on the first pass.
Tender and EPC supply
Most power transmission equipment of this grade is bought through a tender. Utilities, EPC contractors and large plants set the copper content, impedance, efficiency class and test plan in the award, and the unit is judged line by line.
We prepare the technical submission and test documents as part of the quote, and we plan production around the delivery date in your contract. For EPC contractors, that means one supplier for the transformer instead of chasing parts from several vendors. Importers and distributors who hold stock for local installers can order the same design in batches.
Many of the buyers we work with are in Africa, including Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and South Africa. Each of these markets has its own grid voltages and rules, so we check the local standard at enquiry rather than assume one design fits all. Our list of countries we export to shows the ports and markets we already serve.
Standards, tests and documents
Transformers of this type are most often built and tested to standards from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), such as the IEC 60076 series. Your utility may add its own national rules on top.
We do not claim that any certificate applies until it is confirmed for your unit and destination. Test reports, datasheets and other papers are set per order, and you can read how we handle this on our certifications and compliance documents page.
Packing, shipping and customs clearance
An oil-filled transformer is heavy and must stay upright on the way. We brace each unit on a steel skid or in a wooden case, lock the fins and bushings so they cannot shift, and mark the lift points.
Every order ships with a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, so your agent can handle customs clearance without delay. Freight terms, routing and the port of loading in China are set out on our shipping, Incoterms and export documents page.
