Where a single drum road roller fits on site

A single drum machine does the heavy packing on a road job: the embankment, the sub-grade and the base layers that sit under the asphalt. The front drum shakes the fill so the grains settle and lock together, while the rear tyres push the roller and grip loose ground. Vibration can usually be set to a high or low level to match the lift depth and the type of soil.

Choosing between the 14, 16 and 18 ton sizes

• 14 ton: often chosen for town roads, car parks and sites with tight turns.

• Your Incoterm (EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF) and the destination port
