Army Ballistic PASGT Helmet
The Army Ballistic PASGT Helmet is a combat helmet with the classic PASGT shell shape, made to protect the head from fragments and handgun rounds. We make it in China under Army Ballistic Helmets, part of our Army Equipment range, for military, police and tactical units. Single units and bulk container loads are both available.
What PASGT means
PASGT stands for Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops. The shape covers the ears and the back of the head more than old steel helmets did. Many forces still use it. It is a common pick in tenders for army and police units.
Shell, fit and protection
Helmets of this type usually have an aramid composite shell, often called Kevlar-type, or a high-density polyethylene shell. Aramid is well proven, while polyethylene can save weight. A four-point chin strap and a padded liner hold the helmet steady as the wearer moves.
Protection is typically NIJ IIIA equivalent against fragments and handgun rounds, but this depends on the model and shell. We never quote a level we have not checked for your order. The NIJ body armor standards explain how these levels are set and tested.
Buying the Army Ballistic PASGT Helmet for a tender
Importers and contractors usually ask us for the following before they bid:
- Shell material and the protection level required
- Size range and liner type
- Colour or camouflage finish, and rail or cover options
- Carton count per container and destination port
We confirm each point before production. Each lot ships with a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin. Our certifications and compliance page explains which test papers we can supply.
Other helmets in our range
The army MICH helmet has a higher cut for use with headsets. For special units, see the special force helmet.
