Machinery Exporter to Uganda: Farm, Agro and Building Equipment
East Africa · Ugandan Shilling (UGX) · Main port: Landlocked — transit via Mombasa, Kenya (or Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) · EAC / COMESA
Machines & Equipments is a machinery exporter to Uganda that ships factory-direct from Shanghai, China through the ports of Mombasa, Kenya or Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We supply farm machines, crop processing gear and building plant to importers, distributors and tender winners in East Africa. Papers for customs clearance are prepared with each order.
What Ugandan buyers order
Uganda is part of the EAC / COMESA, and most requests from the country fall into three ranges:
- Agricultural Machinery for coffee, maize and banana farms
- Agro Processing Machines such as hullers, maize mills and oil presses
- Construction Machinery for roads, schools and water works
Route planning for a machinery exporter to Uganda
Uganda has no sea port. Cargo lands at Mombasa and moves inland by road or rail, or it goes through Dar es Salaam and then north. The inland leg adds time and cost, so we plan it with you at quote stage.
We quote EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF. Many buyers choose CIF Mombasa and then use a local clearing agent for transit to Kampala. Our page on shipping, Incoterms and export documents explains what each term covers.
Before we build your order
We go over these points with each buyer:
- The model and spec, checked against your order or tender sheet
- Voltage and frequency, or a diesel drive for sites off the grid
- Packing strong enough for a long road trip after the port
- Which transit port you prefer and who handles the transit papers
Prices are quoted per order and not published. Your landed cost in Ugandan Shilling (UGX) terms depends on duty and transit fees, which your agent can confirm.
Packing for the long road inland
The trip from the coast to Kampala can take days on busy roads. So we crate or strap each machine to take a crane lift at the port and hard knocks on the truck. Loose parts go in marked boxes, all on the packing list. If you want spare belts, sieves or blades with the first order, tell us at quote stage so they ride in the same crate.
Documents and public tenders
Each shipment includes a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin. If a tender lists more papers, send the clause and we will say what we can supply; our page on certifications and compliance documents has more.
Public tenders appear on the Government Procurement Portal (GPP). As a machinery exporter to Uganda, we check fit and paperwork before you bid, then plan production to your contract date. We also supply buyers in neighbouring Rwanda.
