Water-Powder Mixer for Dairy and Beverage Preparation
A Water-Powder Mixer blends dry powders such as milk powder, sugar, cocoa or starch into water or other liquids without lumps and without drawing in air. This vertical unit pairs a mixing body with a centrifugal pump impeller, and it comes in three sizes rated from 0.3 to 20 t/h. We build it in China for dairy, drink and syrup plants.
How the mixer draws in powder
Liquid and powder enter through a double-wall pipe, each in its own channel, so they cannot clump before they reach the mixing chamber. As the liquid enters at high speed, the spinning impeller creates a vacuum at its centre. That vacuum pulls the powder down from the hopper, and a valve under the hopper sets how fast it feeds.
Because mixing happens in a closed chamber, the product has little contact with air, which helps cut foaming. The product can be recycled through the unit for a stronger blend, or run inline in a single pass where the recipe allows.
Water-Powder Mixer sizes
The three listed models are:
- 0.3-5 t/h, with a 3 kW motor
- 1-10 t/h, with a 7.5 kW motor
- 2-20 t/h, with an 11 kW motor
The vane pump runs at 2800 or 1400 rpm. Build material and automation level in the specification table are typical for this type of food water-powder mixer, so we confirm the steel grade and controls in writing at quotation.
Typical uses
This preparation system is aimed at dairy and beverage makers. Common jobs include:
- Reconstituting milk powder and whey powder
- Dissolving cocoa or white sugar into milk
- Making syrup, glucose, sorbitol and lactose blends
- Mixing flour or starch slurries and salt brine
- Premixing yoghurt base before heat treatment
After mixing, many plants send the product on to a high-pressure homogenizer for a finer, stable emulsion.
Hygiene and cleaning
The mixer uses a sanitary design with clamp joints, so it goes together and comes apart quickly. It can be cleaned and disinfected in place without taking any part off. Food-contact equipment is often checked against Codex Alimentarius food standards, and we can prepare the documents your buyer or regulator asks for.
