Stages in the soymilk line
The line runs through a fixed set of phases, and each one can be sized to your output:
- Reception and cleaning of soybeans, then dehulling
- Soaking, where the beans take up water and the colour they release is washed off
- Grinding, then mixing so the protein goes into the water
- Separation, which removes the fibre as a by-product called okara, often used in animal feed
- Clean-up of the liquid, then setting the recipe to a fixed standard
- Homogenizing, cooling and storage in a buffer tank
- Sterilization and aseptic filling
The base soymilk can also be held for further work, such as flavoured soymilk or other soy drinks.
