How a Screw-Type Slurry Pump works
Inside the pump, a single screw rotor turns within a stator that has a double spiral bore. As the rotor rolls around the stator axis, it forms a chain of sealed cavities between the two parts. Each cavity keeps a constant volume while it travels from the suction side to the outlet, so the product moves in a steady, even stream.
Because the cavities do not squeeze or shear the product hard, soft pieces of fruit, pulp or curd tend to arrive whole. This gentle action also means the flow barely pulses, which helps when the pump feeds a filler or a heat exchanger.
