How a Single-Diaphram Plunger Pump works

The plunger moves back and forth in an oil-filled chamber. Its stroke flexes the diaphragm, which draws fluid in through one valve and pushes it out through another. Because the diaphragm keeps grit away from the plunger, wear is lower than on a plain piston pump.

A single diaphragm gives one pulse per stroke. That suits steady grouting, filter press feed and slurry transfer at moderate flow. For smoother, higher flow, look at our double diaphram plunger pump.

Flow and pressure trade off against each other. A pump set for high pressure moves less volume, so tell us both figures you need.

Buyers usually ask us about seal material and spare kits. To match the pump to your job, we check:

• Fluid type, solids content and particle size
• Required flow and delivery pressure
• Pipe length and height to the discharge point
• Power source on site

We recommend ordering a spare diaphragm and valve set with the pump. They are the main wear parts, and having them on hand avoids long stops at remote sites.
