How a 23-63m Truck-mounted Concrete Boom Pump Truck works

The ready-mix truck discharges into a hopper at the rear. A piston pump then pushes the concrete through a steel pipeline that runs along the boom, and the operator swings and unfolds the boom to reach the pour point. Outriggers fold out first to keep the truck stable.

With a remote control the operator can stand near the pour and watch the hose end, which gives better placement and fewer spills than working from the truck.

Matching boom length to the job

Boom length sets how high and how far the pump can reach from one set-up:

• Short booms near 23 m suit house slabs, low-rise frames and tight streets, where a smaller truck is easier to park.
• Mid-length booms cover most mid-rise buildings and bridge decks.
• Long booms toward 63 m reach high floors and wide slabs, but need more space for the outriggers and a firmer base.
