What Malawian buyers order

Malawi is in Southern Africa and belongs to SADC / COMESA. Most of our enquiries from the country fall into three groups:

• Agricultural Machinery for maize, tobacco and tea farms, from tillers to irrigation pumps
• Food Processing Plants for maize milling, oil pressing and packing close to where crops grow

Routing cargo as a machinery exporter to Malawi

Sea freight lands at Beira or Nacala in Mozambique, and the cargo then moves inland by road or rail. We agree the route and Incoterm with you at quote stage, because the transit leg affects cost, timing and who handles each border. Many buyers choose CFR or CIF to the Mozambique port and appoint their own agent for the inland move.

Before production, buyers usually ask us to confirm these points:

1. The exact model and capacity, matched to your order or tender file.
2. Voltage and frequency, so motors and inverters suit the local supply.
3. Packing that can survive a long road leg after the port.
4. The Incoterm (EXW, FOB, CFR or CIF) and the named port or place.

Prices are quoted per order, based on quantity, specification, Incoterm and route. We do not publish price lists. Landed cost in Malawian Kwacha (MWK) terms depends on transit fees and duties. We suggest you check them with your clearing agent.

Documents and tender supply
