Machinery for Mauritius lands at Port Louis, through the Mauritius Container Terminal at Mer Rouge - a single container operator, a 14.5 m channel and capacity well above the island's own throughput, which makes scheduling predictable in a way larger ports often are not.

Mauritius does not run a general pre-shipment conformity programme. Control is exercised product by product under the Consumer Protection regulations, and the schedule of goods needing a certificate of conformity is an explicit, closed list of household and domestic electrical appliances - hair dryers, washing machines, televisions, lamps and the like. Industrial machinery and capital equipment sit outside it. That makes Mauritius one of the more straightforward markets we ship into. Two exceptions worth knowing: refrigerating equipment needs a CFC-free certificate issued in the country of origin, and radio or telecom equipment needs an ICTA licence.

Public procurement runs under the Public Procurement Act through the Procurement Policy Office and the Central Procurement Board, which approves major contracts above statutory thresholds, with bidding on the e-Procurement System. Registration there is required before you can bid, and it is open to overseas suppliers. Food processing equipment and workshop plant are the divisions we quote most often into Mauritian schedules.
