Food Processing Plant and Line Manufacturers and Exporters in China
A food processing plant is bought to make a product, not to fill a floor. This division holds complete food processing plants and production lines together with the machines that make them up, covering meat, nuts, dairy, tea, vegetable, fruit and snack production. We manufacture in China under our own brand and export worldwide, building each line to the electrical supply, output and raw material of the factory it is going into. Buyers here are usually launching a product or a factory rather than replacing one unit.
What is a food processing plant?
A food processing plant is a connected sequence of machines that takes raw material through to a finished, packed product at a stated output per hour. Each stage is sized against the stage before it, so no machine stands idle and none is overrun. A plant differs from a single machine in that it is scoped from the finished article backwards – piece weight, pack format and hourly output first, then the equipment that achieves them.

How to select a food processing line
Should I buy a complete plant or individual machines?
Buy the plant when you are introducing a product and the stages do not exist yet, because the value is in the matching between stages rather than in any one machine. Buy individual machines when a factory is already running and a single stage is the constraint. The common and expensive error is assembling a line from separately bought machines that each work but do not share a throughput, a conveyor height or a control philosophy.
What output figure should I design to?
Design to the output you can sell in year two, not year one, but phase the purchase. Plants built in connected sections can be commissioned section by section and extended later without the earlier sections being rebuilt, which is the practical way to buy capacity you will grow into. Say at enquiry that you intend to phase it.
What decides cost more than anything else?
Automation level against changeover frequency. A line running one product all season gains little from full automation; one switching between several products gains a great deal, because clean-down and recipe change are where a semi-automatic line loses its hours. Decide how many products the line must carry before deciding its degree of automation.
What is usually missed at enquiry stage?
Headroom and drainage. Floor area is remembered and headroom is not, and it rules machines in or out more often than footprint does. Wet processing areas also need drainage designed in rather than added, since equipment position follows the drains.
Specifications and standards to compare
| Equipment | Key specifications to compare | Relevant standards |
|---|---|---|
| Meat Processing Machine | Throughput per hour, drive power, bowl or barrel volume, product contact material | Specify required standard at enquiry |
| Milk Processing Equipment | Litres per hour, holding temperature and time, heat exchanger type, CIP provision | Specify required standard at enquiry |
| Food Processing Potato Patty Machine | Pieces per hour or kilogrammes per hour, piece thickness range, feed bin volume, drive rating | Specify required standard at enquiry |
| Tea Bag Machine | Bags per minute, chamber type, envelope and box options, filling weight range | Specify required standard at enquiry |
| Food Packing Machine | Packs per minute, fill weight range, film or pouch format, sealing method | Specify required standard at enquiry |
| Vegetable Processing Plant | Kilogrammes per hour, water consumption, product contact grade, wash method | Specify required standard at enquiry |
| All exported machinery | Voltage, frequency, phase, ambient temperature range | CE marking where the destination requires it |
Confirm the required standard, the test method where one applies, and the site electrical supply at enquiry. Where a tender names a standard, send the schedule and it will be quoted against that standard rather than a general specification.
What a complete processing line contains
A line is normally scoped as connected sections rather than as a machine list, and each section is sized against the one before it:
- Reception and preparation – washing, blanching, cutting, grading and sorting, sized to the raw material entering the factory and the condition it arrives in.
- Primary processing – grinding, mixing, cutting, extraction or pasteurising, which is the stage that defines the product and usually the stage with the longest lead time.
- Forming and portioning – patty, nugget, burger and finger forming, set by piece weight and shape; shape changes by tooling rather than by machine.
- Thermal treatment – cooking, frying, smoking, roasting or cooling, matched to the forming rate so product does not accumulate.
- Packing – vacuum, granule, pouch or carton packing and tea bag packing, matched to the pack format you sell in.
- Utilities – compressed air, steam, chilled water and drainage, specified with the line rather than assumed to exist.
Who buys from this division

| Trading company or distributor | Machines in container quantities, built to the destination electrical supply |
Export supply and documentation
Machines are built to the electrical supply of the destination rather than converted on arrival, so voltage, frequency and phase are settled before manufacture. Shipments are released with the documentation customs at the destination requires, and the port, inspection regime and tender authority differ considerably between markets – some require a certificate of conformity issued before the goods arrive, others inspect after landing, and a few require no product certification for industrial machinery at all. Tell us the destination country at enquiry so the documentation route is settled with the quotation rather than after shipment.
Tender and procurement enquiries
Where you are bidding into a public tender, send the specification schedule rather than a summary of it. A schedule is quoted line by line against the items named in it, which is what an evaluation committee compares; a general price list against a detailed schedule is usually marked down on compliance regardless of price. State the submission deadline, the currency and the delivery terms the tender requires, and say whether the award is on lowest price or on technical score, because that changes which configuration is worth quoting.
What is included and what is not
Supplied: the equipment, built to the output, raw material and electrical supply you specify, packed for sea freight with export documentation. Not supplied: factory buildings, floor drainage, civil works and local regulatory approvals, which are the buyer's and are normally handled by a local contractor familiar with the regulations in that market. Erection, operator training and guarantee terms are agreed in each supply contract and vary with the size of the installation; no aftercare is provided outside that contract. Say which stages you already own, since a line is very often part new and part existing.

Questions buyers ask
What is the difference between a food processing plant and a single machine?
A plant is a connected sequence of stages sized to one output figure, where every machine is matched to the one before it so nothing idles and nothing is overrun. A single machine does one operation and is bought to fit a line that already exists. If you are replacing a unit in a running factory, buy the machine; if you are launching a product, scope the line.
How do I size a food processing line?
Work backwards from the finished article. Fix the piece weight and the pack format first, then the output per hour you need to sell, then the raw material you can actually buy locally and the condition it arrives in. Those three figures determine every machine in the sequence. Sizing forward from a machine you like is how lines end up with a bottleneck at the third stage.
Can a line be commissioned in stages?
Often yes. Plants built in connected sections, such as reception, processing, extraction, evaporation and packing, can be commissioned section by section and extended later without the earlier sections being rebuilt. Say at the enquiry stage that you intend to phase the installation, because it changes how the connections between sections are specified.
Which machines need stainless steel and which do not?
Anything in contact with product, and anything in a wet or wash-down area, should be stainless. Dry transport and structural frames outside the product zone can be mild steel with a powder coating, which is cheaper. Specifying stainless throughout where it is not needed adds cost without adding food safety; specifying mild steel where product touches it fails an audit.
What electrical supply are the machines built to?
The supply at the destination, which is settled before manufacture. Voltage, frequency and phase vary by market and a machine built to the wrong supply either needs a transformer on site or does not run. Send the voltage, frequency and phase from the site rather than the country, since industrial supply often differs from domestic.
Do you supply the factory building and the layout?
No. Building work, floor drainage, civil works and local approvals are the buyer's, and they are usually handled by a local contractor who knows the regulations. What is supplied is the equipment, built to fit the floor area, headroom and services you describe. Send those dimensions early, because headroom in particular rules machines in or out.
Which products in this division are complete lines rather than machines?
The processing plants are lines: dairy, fruit juice, fruit pulp, tomato ketchup and vegetable processing plants are scoped end to end. Most of the remaining ranges, including meat processing, nuts processing and tea bag machines, are individual machines that are either bought on their own or combined into a line.
What should be in a tender enquiry for a processing line?
The finished product and its pack format, the required output per hour and per shift, the raw material and its incoming condition, the building dimensions and available services, the destination country, and which stages you already own. If you are working to a tender specification, attach the schedule so it can be quoted line by line instead of against a price list.
