Concrete Pump Truck
Reach is what a pump truck is bought for. The Construction 55m Concrete Pump Trucks in this category place concrete where a chute or a barrow cannot go, by means of a boom that unfolds from the chassis and a pipeline carrying the mix to the discharge point.
Planning reach against the site
Three recorded dimensions describe the envelope a boom can work in: placing radius outwards, placing height upwards, placing depth below the standing level. Draw all three on the site plan from the position where the truck can actually park. That is the part most often forgotten, because the vehicle needs firm standing with room to extend its supports, and the distance from there to the furthest pour is the radius that counts, rather than a radius quoted in isolation. Deep work such as basements, shafts and pile caps is where the placing depth figure earns its keep.
Specification and site checks
- Maximum placing radius, height and depth, compared with the geometry of the pours planned
- Hopper capacity, which should suit the mixers feeding it so that the pump is never left waiting
- Construction details of boom and chassis as recorded on the product page
- Ground bearing capacity and overhead obstructions, power lines included, at the parking position
A pump works with the delivery fleet rather than instead of it: continuous placing wants mixers arriving at the rate the pump can accept. Contractors, concrete pumping specialists and plant hire companies make up the enquiries.
Operator competence and local plant or lifting regulations rest with the buyer in the country of use. Spare parts and operator training can be supplied under the contract covering the order, alongside warranty and installation.
