A full-sleeve woollen T-shirt for army issue, unisex fit, bagged for distribution.
Wool is specified for cold and wet conditions for one reason: it keeps insulating when it is damp, which cotton does not. A soldier in a wet cotton shirt is being cooled by it; in a wet woollen one he is not. That is why this is the winter and high-altitude item in the range and the cotton patterns are the hot-weather ones.
Full sleeve, hand wash care as supplied. Worth planning as part of a layering issue rather than on its own — wool next to the skin is warm but it is also the layer that wears out first, so most units order two or three per man against one outer garment.
