About this unit
Hand drain opener. A flexible cable is fed into the blocked line and rotated by hand, so it follows the bends in the pipework instead of stopping at the first one. Cable length decides how far into a run you can reach, and the head on the end decides what it does when it gets there - break a soft blockage up, or hook and pull it back. Say which is more common in your work, and the pipe diameters involved.
