About this unit
Adjustable jack plane, the general-purpose bench plane. It is long enough to bridge the hollows in a rough board and bring a face true, and short enough to be used in one hand on an edge - which is why, if a workshop has one plane, it is this one. Cutter depth and lateral alignment are adjustable in use. Specify the length, the blade width and whether a wooden or metal body is required.
