About this unit
Pneumatic tyred roller on hydraulic drive. Rubber tyres compact by kneading rather than by direct pressure: the tyre deforms against the surface and works the material sideways as well as down, which closes a bituminous mat in a way a steel drum cannot. Ballast is added or removed to change the load per wheel. Hydraulic drive gives the smooth starts a hot mat needs. Specify the operating mass range and the tyre arrangement.
