Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant
Sweetened condensed milk process line manufactured from fresh milk. Before evaporation, the fat and solids-non-fat values of the milk have been standardized to predetermined. The milk has also been heat treated to destroy micro-organisms and enzymes which could cause problems and to stabilize the protein complex. Heat treatment is also important to the development of product viscosity during storage, and is particularly important in the case of sweetened condensed milk. The addition of sugar is a key step in the manufacture of sweetened condensed milk, as the shelf life of the product depends on its osmotic pressure being sufficiently high. A sugar content of at least 62.5% in the aqueous phase is required. Two methods are used for addition of sugar:
•Addition of dry sugar before heat treatment
•Addition of sugar syrup in the evaporator
The stage at which the sugar is added affects the viscosity of the end product. The evaporator is usually of the multistage falling-film type. When sugar is added in the evaporator, the syrup is drawn into the evaporator and mixed with the milk at the half-way stage of the process. Evaporation then continues until the required dry matter content has been reached. The dry matter content is checked continuously by determining the density of the concentrate.
Sweetened condensed milk must be cooled after evaporation. This is the most critical and important stage in the whole process. The water in the condensed milk can only hold half the quantity of lactose in solution. The remaining half will therefore be precipitated in the form of crystals. If the surplus lactose is allowed to precipitate freely, the sugar crystals will be large and the product will be gritty and unsuitable for many applications. It is consequently preferable to control the crystallisation of lactose so that very small crystals are obtained. The required crystallisation is accomplished by cooling the mixture rapidly under vigorous agitation, without air being entrapped. The cooled condensed milk is pumped to a storage tank where it is kept until the following day to allow the crystallisation process to be completed.
Sweetened condensed milk should be yellowish in colour and have the appearance of mayonnaise. Traditionally, it is packed in cans, which in this case must be cleaned and sterilized before filling as no sterilization takes place after canning. Nowadays it is also possible to pack sweetened condensed milk in aseptic paperboard packages. The product is also packed in big barrels, holding about 300kg, for supply to large-scale users.

Questions we are asked about the Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant
If your question is not here, email us and an engineer will answer it directly.
Ask a questionAre you a manufacturer or a trading company for Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant?
We manufacture. Buying direct removes the trading margin and means the person who quotes the Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant is the one who can change its specification.
Can I order a single unit, or do you only supply in bulk?
Both. The Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant can be ordered as a single item, and it is also supplied in bulk container loads for distributors, contractors and institutional buyers.
Consolidating several items into one shipment normally lowers the landed cost per unit, so we will tell you when it is worth combining an order.
Can the Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant be supplied to our own specification?
Yes. Specification is fixed at the order stage rather than adapted after arrival, so tell us what the destination requires — sizing, materials, finish, capacity, electrical supply or branding, depending on the item — and it is built to that.
Documentation and labelling can be supplied in the working language of your market.
What is the price of the Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant?
Price depends on quantity, specification and destination, so we quote rather than publish a list price. Send the quantity you need and the destination port and you will get a specification, a price and a lead time in writing.
How is the Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant packed for export?
Packed for sea freight and loaded to make full use of the container, with the packing configuration confirmed on the quotation so you know the volume before you book.
Do you handle shipping and export documentation?
Yes. We handle container loading and the export paperwork the shipment needs to clear customs at the destination — packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin and any inspection certificates the country requires. We can quote on the incoterms you prefer to work with.
What happens after the Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant arrives?
For items that need installing, commissioning and operator training are carried out on site. For everything else we check the delivery against the order and stay reachable if anything needs resolving.
Either way you deal with the same people who handled the order rather than being passed to a general enquiries desk.
Can you supply the Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant against a government or NGO tender?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We provide technical specifications and compliance documentation in the format the tender asks for, along with the manufacturer authorisation letters most public tenders require from a bidder.
Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant manufacturers, suppliers and exporters
We ship this equipment in container loads and against national tender. Landlocked destinations are served through the nearest transit port with inland haulage arranged to site.
The Food Condensed Milk Processing Plant is supplied to importers, distributors, project contractors and public procurement teams worldwide. Equipment is built to the destination market’s electrical specification, crated for sea freight and released with the documentation the shipment needs to clear customs on arrival.
It belongs to our Processing Plant range. If you are specifying a whole plant rather than one machine, tell us the throughput you need and we will quote the complete line.
