About this unit
A maglev wind turbine supplied in 2 kW and 5 kW ratings, both at 48 V, both on a 2.55 m rotor with five aluminium alloy blades.
The numbers that matter for a site assessment: it starts generating at 2 m/s, reaches rated output at 12 m/s, and survives to 35 m/s. The 2 m/s start-up is the characteristic worth understanding — a maglev generator has almost no cogging torque, so it turns in wind that leaves a conventional small turbine stationary. In low and intermittent wind that is where the annual yield comes from, not from the peak rating.
Electromagnetic speed regulation and automatic yaw; working range minus 40 to plus 80°C. Tower height is 2.5 m or 2.7 m as supplied and is usually extended on site. Send the mast height and your average wind speed with the enquiry — the rating alone will not tell you what the machine produces.
