About this unit
A 1.5 × 1.5 m bomb suppression blanket, 18 to 20 kg, at an areal density of 7 kg. It is placed over a suspect device to contain fragmentation and direct blast upward rather than outward.
It does not make a device safe. What it does is buy distance for everyone around it while a disposal team works, and limit the damage if the device functions before they arrive — which is why the weight is the specification that matters. At 18 to 20 kg it is a two-man lift in protective equipment, and that is the practical constraint on where it can be deployed.
Also supplied at 100 × 130, 100 × 150, 130 × 150 and 150 × 200 cm, and to other sizes on request. A matching blast containment ring is available and is usually ordered alongside. Specify the size and whether you need the ring with the enquiry.
