Spain is a mature European market with a substantial domestic machinery industry, and we are straightforward about what that means: buyers here have excellent alternatives close at hand, work to European conformity requirements as a baseline, and evaluate equipment on documented performance rather than on description. Enquiries from Spain tend to be specific and technically detailed, and we quote them accordingly.

What Spanish buyers specify

Food processing accounts for most of what we ship. Olive oil extraction and refining serve the world's largest producing industry; fruit and vegetable processing serves Murcia, Valencia and Andalusia; and wine and beverage handling equipment serves a substantial sector. Fish and seafood processing serves the Galician and Mediterranean fleets, with the freezing and cold chain that supports them.

Beyond those, we ship meat processing plant, dairy equipment, bakery and confectionery machinery, and packaging lines. Cold storage and refrigeration are in steady demand across a large fresh produce export trade. Water treatment and irrigation equipment serve agriculture in regions where water management is a serious constraint, and solar system products sell against an excellent resource.

EU conformity and documentation

This is the baseline requirement rather than an added extra. Machinery placed on the European market must meet the applicable directives, carry conformity marking where required, and be supplied with a declaration of conformity and a technical file in a form an inspector or an insurer will accept. That constrains design, guarding, electrical safety and the instructions supplied, and it is built in during manufacture rather than added at the end.

Shipping to Spain

Consignments route through Valencia or Barcelona for the Mediterranean coast and the eastern industrial regions, Algeciras for the south and for transhipment traffic, or Bilbao for the north. Spain's road and rail network is excellent and inland haulage rarely constrains a delivery schedule. Choosing the port nearest the destination is still worth doing on heavy plant.

Shipments leave with the packing list, commercial invoice, certificate of origin and the conformity documentation the product category requires.

Built for local conditions

Spain runs on 230 V at 50 Hz, with Type C and F sockets in general use. Equipment is built to that supply at the order stage. Summer temperatures in the south and the interior are high, so refrigeration and cooling are specified for the actual regional condition rather than a European average — a condenser sized for northern Europe will struggle in Andalusia. Coastal sites face salt loading. Manuals and control panel labelling can be supplied in Spanish or English, and Spanish labelling for operator-facing controls is expected.

Where we fit against domestic supply

Spanish machinery builders are excellent, particularly in food processing, and on a single standard unit they are often the better choice. We would rather say that than pretend otherwise. Where we compete well is on complete lines integrating several stages, on equipment for products those builders serve less frequently, and on projects where a buyer wants one supplier responsible for the whole plant. Installation and support

We commission on site and train operators, though Spain generally needs less support than most markets: the engineering base is deep and buyers here are entirely capable of installing and maintaining plant given proper documentation. Where that is the case we supply the complete technical file and remain available rather than adding cost with a visit that provides little value.

Send the product, the throughput you need per hour, the port of entry, the region and the conformity documentation you require. If you are comparing against a domestic quotation, say what it includes. You get a machine list, a delivered price and a lead time in writing.

After-sales support and parts availability

Spanish buyers reasonably ask what happens after installation, and the honest answer matters more than a reassuring one. We identify wear parts with full specifications at handover so that standard items can be sourced from European suppliers directly rather than reordered from us, which is faster and cheaper for you. For genuinely proprietary components we hold stock and quote lead times before you order rather than after you need them.
